I'm a Survivor
This week has been extremely hard on me. I've had a temperature over 102 degrees for almost three straight days, I've gone through 3-4 rolls of toilet paper for my runny nose, and I've suffered from the sickly old lady-sounding voice since Sunday. I hate not being able to talk loud enough! Needless to say, I've been very, very sick and the doctors told me that I may have mono. Luckily, I don't think I do because I am feeling a little better tonight and they told me that I would only get worse from here on out if I did have mono. Apparently a viral cold can make your mono "stuff" go up a bit and it shows on a blood test. If I'm not 100% by Monday, I have to go back and give them more of my blood. I'm crossing my fingers, praying, wishing, hoping that I don't have to go back. The thought of quitting my job and withdrawing from classes due to mono terrifies me. I would go absolutely nuts at home all alone all day everyday for six weeks!

Two-in-One
I have this fun little quiz thing that I wanted to fill out on this post, but I wanted to first talk about my TRC experience. For those who don't know, the TRC is a place where volunteers go and let the missionaries practice teaching to investigators. So, we act like investigators and ask them bizarre questions and things like that while they attempt to teach us the first discussion. Easy peasy, most of you might say. However, I went to the Bulgarian TRC to practice my speaking skills. It wasn't as much of a practice as it was a self-esteem booster. These guys had been learning Bulgarian for a week so I knew way more than them at this point. (I realize, though, that they'll probably know more than me next week. I wish I was blessed with the gift of tongues!) I was helping them understand what Tony was saying to them and I felt good that I understood what Tony was saying! They only talked with us in Bulgarian for like a minute, but then we made them do it again later after the discussion and it was really fun. Probably not for them, but it was for me!
We plan on going back a lot and we really hope we get the same set of missionaries. They really liked us and they were good guys! It was fun to talk with them in either language!
Now, for the quiz.....
1. What is your husband's name? Tony (if we want to be technical, it's Anthony)
2. How long have you been together? Married for a year and five months
3. How long did you date? From first official date until proposal - 4 months (ish)
4. How old is he? 24
5. Who eats more? Tony, for sure. :)
6. Who said I love you first? Tony
7. Who is taller? Tony is, by a mere 3 inches.
8. Who sings better? Tony
9. Who is smarter? Tony (man, he's wailing on me)
10. Whose temper is worse? Tony's, haha.
11. Who does the laundry? Both of us, usually. But sometimes Tony does it by himself, which is nice.
12. Who does the dishes? Tony. I ocassionaly wash some plates!
13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do
14. Who pays the bills? Tony does, and I'm in charge of tithing
15. Who mows the lawn? if we had a lawn to mow I would suspect that Tony would be in charge of that chore and I would take over the dishes :)
16. Who cooks dinner? We take turns, but I think I cook more than Tony does.
17. Who drives when you are together? Tony
18. Who is more stubborn? Umm, that's a toughie. Tony is probably more stubborn, but I think we both have our stubborn moments.
19. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Me, 100% all the time.
20. Whose parents do you see the most? Tony's parents
21. Who proposed? Tony did. It was a very sweet proposal
22. Who is more sensitive? Me
23. Who has more friends? Probably Tony at the moment.
24. Who has more siblings? Tony
25. Who wears the pants in the family? I think we share the pants, right now
26. Where did you meet? He drove me to the airport, sparks flew.
27. What was the first thing you said to your husband? Oh who cares?? Probably "hi"
28. Where was your first date? Neither of us still know what to count as our first official date. I would probably say Gateway mall before dropping me off at the airport. December 14th, 2005 Haha, I was so giddy that day!
29. Where was your first kiss? Right in front of what used to be DT. (Probably more the Bean Museum) It was a beautiful snowy night and we were making a snowman!
30. Where did you get engaged? Aspen Grove :)
31. Where were you married? Nauvoo, Illinois
32. Where was the honeymoon? Disneyland!
33. If you could have changed anything about it what would it have been? Nothing, it was so much fun. I wish we could go back again sometime for an anniversary!

You know you've been living in Bulgaria too long when...
I thought it would be funny to remember some things I wrote down during my two-year stint in Bulgaria. Like any place, it has its share of oddities.
You know you've been in Bulgaria too long when...
You know you’ve been in Bulgaria too long when…
1. You think a “magazine” is a place where you go to buy groceries.
2. You are amazed to see an elderly woman with natural-color hair.
3. You think back fondly on the day you learned your first words in Bulgarian: “green card”
4. You shake your head for “yes” and nod your head for “no”.
5. You think the phrase “how many souls are we?” sounds perfectly normal
6. You have trouble saying the word “rural.”
7. You think that “holiday” and “feast” are the same word.
8. You have strange dreams about barbeque chicken and peanut butter.
9. You dive for cover when a light breeze blows through the room.
10. You think an appropriate response to the question, “how are you doing?” is “thank you.”
11. You think that anyone in a suit with a nice car is in the mafia.
12. You panic because you forgot to give away presents on your birthday.
13. The cashier at the store short circuits because she is unable to make change for a five.
14. You begin to feel the effects of 500 години под турското робство.
15. You proudly tell everyone you meet which college you learned at.
16. You chalk every illness up to грип, and determine that its cause is invariably some combination of cold and quickly moving air.
17. The security guard at the bank thoroughly inspects you by asking if you have any weapons.
18. The guy that just got off the plane smells something smoky and asks who’s having a barbeque, and you just tell him to sniff again.
19. You tell your neighbors that you don’t smoke, and they ask you what, then, is the purpose of your life!
20. The only thing that makes you stand out more than baggy jeans from the Gap is going for a jog.
21. You consider McDonald’s a nice, sit-down restaurant.
22. There is a 50-degree temperature difference between your living room and your entryway.
23. You want to buy bread, you just don’t know if you should buy one bread or two.
24. Food is best at room temperature—especially meat.
25. You have your favorite brands of second-hand smoke.
26. Your eyes brim with tears of gratitude when you walk into a store and the clerk uncharacteristically says to you, “Hello, how can I help you?”
27. You begin to think that words like против and тоест are English words.
28. You need someone to explain to you that the cold, floating things in your drink at McDonald’s are called “ice cubes.”
29. You are lulled to sleep by fairytales of a magical, faraway land where there are front lawns, and a soft, rug-like material called “carpet.”
30. You think that microwaves are only for restaurants.

Exciting News!
As you all may know, Tony and I have recently applied to the One Heart Bulgaria Internship. We've had some problems, though. There was quite a big lack of communication and for a long time we didn't know if we were actually going or not. Tonight we got an email and we're actually MEETING with someone this Friday to talk about the internship! How exciting!
You all should visit the website and read more about it! If any of the three people who read my blog would like to donate to our cause, let me know!! ;)

Just Call Me "Four Eyes"
Today I visited the eye doctor for the first time in ten years. (You know your old when you can say you did something for the first time in ten years) I must admit, I was a little nervous because of the semi-traumatic experience I had visiting the doctor when I was 11 years old. I'm speaking more specifically of "the poof". If you've been to the eye doctor, you probably know what I'm talking about. They put your eyeball as close as humanly possible to this little round contraption that (with no warning) blasts a puff of air right into your eye. When I was ten, my eye doctor strapped my arms down so I wouldn't jump back when it happened and quite frankly--it freaked me out. So today at the eye doctor I was cracking up the nurse (is she a nurse?) because I was shaking I was so nervous. Long story short, the poof wasn't that bad, but I still hate it.
After my poof experience they took me to the room where they put the big, dorky machine on your face and say "better, worse, or the same?" "A or B?". Those reading the lines tests always make me feel stupid because I'll read out loud "Q E T U Y Z" and no, it was in fact "R I L P T S". After all of that silliness, we all figured out that I have astigmatism and that I will now be wearing part-time glasses. I was relived that I didn't have to go through the learning how to wear contacts business. So, with the help of the friendly receptionists, I picked some cute frames and this time next week I'll be a regular, glasses-wearin' woman.

The Workout Blues
So, this new P90X thing just isn't motivating me like it used to. I blame it on going to Indiana. I don't know, it's weird...everytime I think about doing the workout I get this thought like, "Why even bother, it won't help you any." Hopefully this is just a phase because I know that it is helping me! Sheesh, I'm a weenie!
Does anyone have any pump-you-up-for-your-workout suggestions??

Sickly Hollie Thinks
Staying home sick two and a half days in a row can make you sit and think about lots of silly things. Today has been especially full of silly thoughts because I am home alone. Tony is at work so it's just me, the television, and my Bulgaria board (which has kept me busy some of this morning).
First thing I've been thinking about: Bulgaria!! I'm so excited about it I even changed our blog to Bulgarian flag colors. I can't even describe how excited I am to travel there with Tony. I know it is a very special place to him and while I learn the language it's fun to spend time together.
Secondly, Quaker's Mini Delights.
These amazing little 90-calorie rice cake snacks have blessed my life recently. :) They are so delicious and give me a feeling like I can eat chocolate on this crazy P90X diet I've been on! Ohhh I love them and would recommend them to anyone I know. They're a healthy little treat that tastes so good!

I've been thinking about our future a lot lately and it makes me so happy that I have someone like Tony to spend it with. I wouldn't want to go on adventures with anyone else!!
Anyway, that's all :)!
