"The River Crossing"
(Even though this doesn't look scary, it was. On the side Tony doesn't show you there was a huge drop. Oh, by the way, this video DOES work, Tony just forgot to take the lens cap off at first. Just be patient and you'll see it!)
Lastly, I had an interesting experience this past Saturday. Tony was playing basketball with his cousin and some of his friends at a church in South Jordan so I decided to head up to the South Towne mall to look for a swimsuit. After four hours (yuck) I finally found one that I really like. I can't for the life of me find a picture of it online, but I will try to describe it. It's a tankini that's long so it covers my tummy even when I lift my arms up. It's a black halter with silver stud appliques right under the bust. It is so cute! I also got a cute little cover up, too. Buying the swimsuit, however, was not my interesting experience. HERE is the experience, haha:
As I was standing in the checkout line at JCPenney (they're having a great sale right now, by the way) the woman in front of me was having a hard time telling the clerk what she wanted because she spoke little English. After a while, I began listening to see what the problem was because after all, I was waiting for this lady to get her move on! As soon as I began listening I heard her mutter something to herself and it made me wonder...
"Izvinete," I said, "Govorite li Bulgarski?" [Excuse me, do you speak Bulgarian?] The woman's eyes widened as she nearly shouted "da!!" [yes!]. At this point I had no idea why I decided to butt in, but now I had to pull out my Bulgarian guns and have at it! "Az znam malko Bulgarski," I said. [I know a little Bulgarian] I have never seen a little old lady get so excited before. I offered her help and she proceeded to tell me that all she wanted was a bigger size in the swimsuit she had in her hands. Easy enough. I checked to make sure by saying "chetirinayset" [14]. The baba replied "da, da, chetirinayset!" After all of that, they didn't have any size 14, but the Bulgar lady wanted to take me out to lunch for helping her, haha. Imagine that! Meeting a genuine Bulgarian in Sandy, Utah at JCPenney. Crazy. I'm grateful for that opportunity though. It really boosted my confidence and made me feel like I'll be able to survive in Bulgaria. Neat, huh?
There's more I could blog about, but I think I'll stick to the highlights of the week for now. I hope this didn't put anyone to sleep with how long it went on!
Ciao, ciao.
